Q:

What is Z University (ZU)?

A:

ZU developed the course curriculum, career resource materials and produced the training sessions. This course is part of a total system of internship resources and work productivity tools, including an Internship eToolkit for creating and running programs and a Supervisor Training Orientation DVD and Guidebook. When combined, these materials and processes work to create the best possible internship experience for all participants. More detail is available at www.ZUniversity.org.

Q:

What is the role of The Internship Institute (TII)?

A:

TII is an independent non-profit organization and certifying body. It oversees the course validation and review questions, administers the certification process, adds course content, and applies a portion of proceeds for its charitable endeavors. More detail is available at www.InternshipInstitute.org.

Q:

What is the Blueprint for Internship Success?

A:

Z University developed three such Blueprints: one to illustrate best practices in intern training (Blue) featured in this course; another Blueprint for employers and supervisors (Green) about managing programs and interns; and, the third Blueprint (Orange) to illustrate the potential positive economic impact of making internships systemic.

Q:

How may an employer purchase the program management and supervisor orientation materials?

A:

These employer solutions are currently available at www.ZUniversity.org. At this time, it is necessary to complete two separate transactions to purchase course credits and other ZU materials. We are working to integrate our order process, which we hope to complete by the end of March 2011.

Q:

Why should an employer sponsor their interns to take this course?

A:

For one, assuming the intern(s) applies themselves, it would be nearly impossible not to come out ahead. Interns are an investment. Aside from an inherent commitment to train them, the value of making them more capable, efficient, productive, loyal and motivated provides a straight line to greater ROI. The fact that the course also provides a compliance fulfillment measure [for unpaid interns] is secondary in comparison to being substantive and beneficial for everyone.

Q:

What is the significance of earning The Certificate?

A:

The Certificate of Career Preparation is jointly awarded to course graduates by The Internship Institute and Z University (ZU). It affirms ones commitment to acquire the knowledge and skills to gain meaningful field work experience. With it, the course-taker assumes ownership to advance his/her career interests and long-term success. There is a resource in the SRC to suggest how one might respond to interview questions about the certification. In short, it sets you apart and prepares you do the same in multiple ways.

Q:

How do I earn the Certificate?

A:

Earning the Certificate of Career Preparation involves a single requirement, which is to fully view each of the three training sessions. At some point in each presentation, there will be a reference to a specific "key phrase" which is required to gain entry into the Course Validation section, where course takers must complete 30 review questions. Upon completing the Course Validation and Review, there is an acknowledgment of this achievement along with immediate access to download a personalized Certificate.

Q:

Will I have to study any of the other resources in order to pass the course and earn the certificate?

A:

In short, no. The Course Validation and Review is specific to the three sessions. We provide the resources in the SRC as an added benefit. The certificate candidate is not required to view or know these materials for the Course Review, they only need to know the three key phrases, which will be revealed in each session.

Q:

How will I find out everything I need to know about taking the course?

A:

Prior to registration, you will find all general information on the Course Details page and can gain additional insight by viewing Course Samples. Upon completing registration, the candidate will gain immediate access to the portal, beginning with the Course Instructions page where we will provide registrants with step-by-step guidance about how to get the most out of their commitment.

Q:

How will I get from one training session to the next as well as access the Success Readiness Center (SRC)?

A:

Upon entering the course, each page provides ready access to each session as well as to the SRC for you to download more than 70 supplements including a step-by-step series of worksheets we call the Career Navigation System. We recommend that course-takers fully familiarize themselves with the SRC prior to viewing the first session.
[top]

Q:

Should I take notes when I view each session?

A:

Course-takers are not required to take notes, nor study for the Course Validation and Review. However, it is very likely they might hear something they like enough to want to remember, so it's always a good idea to be prepared.
[top]

Q:

Are each of the three coaching sessions exactly one hour in length?

A:

Not exactly, but all three are within a few minutes of an hour in length. Each session is also divided into three segments which build upon one another as part of our Blueprint for Internship Success™. So there are a total of nine segments that are approximately 20 minutes in length. So one may choose to view one segment at a time and return to view the next at their convenience.
[top]

Q:

Will I be able to download the training session videos or slide presentations?

A:

That is not possible. We are compelled to protect the integrity of the course and certification process. However, you will find that many of the resources in the SRC reinforce and elaborate on much of the content you will see in the presentations.
[top]

Q:

For how long is my registration valid to access the site, view the sessions, and complete the Course Validation?

A:

A registrant is entitled to 60 days of open access to the InternshipSuccess.com portal.
[top]

Q:

May I come and go to complete each course session and validation one at a time?

A:

Precisely. Though - please note - course-takers will need to view each of the segments in their entirety. The view screen may be paused to take notes or a break, but if the portal is exited prematurely during a session, it may be necessary to restart it from the beginning. The same applies to the Course Validation and Review Section, which only takes approximately 20 minutes.
[top]

Q:

How do I re-enter the course portal?

A:

The Log-in access to re-enter the portal is available on the InternshipSuccess.com homepage and all others in the navigation bar. Registrants may simply use the user name/password chosen during internship registration.
[top]

Q:

How does the $25 Instant Credit work?

A:

The credit is available for individual registrants only who are not sponsored by a group purchase. Simply enter 5 valid email addresses of friends, classmates and others. We will send them a one-time invitation to learn about the course and offer them the same discount.
[top]

Q:

What do you do with the email addresses that I provide?

A:

Nothing beyond sending the one instant email. We will never share their information with a third-party nor reuse it without their expressed permission. They are most welcome to join our community on Facebook.
